HISTORY OF THE HOTEL In 1872, Archduke Luis Salvador of Austria arrived in Palma aboard his yacht, the Nixe, and he became totally fascinated withthe landscape, the countryside and its people.His yacht, the Nixe, remained anchored in the Cala Mayor bay for many years and the hotel’s name was chosen in homage to the boat used by the Archduke to arrive on Majorca – an island he made famous around Europe.This establishment which opened its doors for the first time in 1957. It had been closed for almost 10 years when the Santos family purchased the Hotel Nixe Palace in 1996, in order to reform itentirely and furnish it with very modern infra-structures.The new Nixe would open its doors in 1997, offering an exquisite and perfect combination between classicism andavant-garde style.The privileged location of the Nixe Palace, its installations and the efficiency and dedication with which its staff carries out itswork each day make this establishment a very, very special place.Welcome aboard the Nixe!
